Some of our 2026 Intakes

A juvenile porcupine exhibiting a case of mange. Mange is a painful skin disease caused by tiny parasitic mites that burrow under the skin. If left untreated it can cause hair and quill loss as well as crusting around the nose and mouth which leads to respiratory distress inability to eat and eventually death.

Juvenile groundhogs.

This is the same porcupine one month into treatment. Mange is fairly easily treatable with early enough intervention but these patients do stay with us for an extended amount of time for periodic treatment and supportive care until release time.

Squirrels, squirrels and more squirrels! Wind storms often bring in multiple baby squirrels thrown out of their nests. If you find baby squirrels just keep warm and safe, no water, milk or food please! Call rehab asap!

A family of opossum joeys, called a litter or passel. When a nursing opossum dies, sometimes the joeys can be removed from the pouch and saved, bring the deceased mom along with the joeys still in the pouch directly to a rehabber.

INTERESTING FACT! An opossum joeys sex can be determined by observing a tiny pouch opening on the abdomen of the females.
